President Bednar began serving as president of Ricks College July 1, 1997, which was later re-named Brigham Young University-Idaho. President Bednar received a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Purdue University in 1980, and is a published author in that field. He and his wife Susan are the parents of three sons.
